Testing RFC 2544 and GameChanger

RFC 2544 Testing can be completed on either Local Area Networks or Wide Area Networks.  RFC 2544 defines a specific set of tests that can be used to evaluate equipment performance. It defines a set of 4 tests – Throughput, Latency, Frame Loss Rate, and Back-to-back frames.  So what happens if this testing occurs over extended length cables like the patent-pending GameChanger?

We have already illustrated the significant cost savings or lengthonomics of GameChanger over other solutions that are length limited to 100m.  With length optimized cables, the standards are exceeded to the benefit of the end user.   Benefits include the elimination of extra IDF locations or intermediate power locations, decreased complexity of the environment, decreased risks that arise when additional repeaters and transceivers are introduced into the channel, and a significantly simplified infrastructure.  In this blog, we will look specifically at RFC 2544 testing, what it means and how it, too, can be length optimized.
